Beast Hunter Ultra Magnus

20140615_073023

Beast Hunter - I used to have the first release of TF: Prime Ultra Magnus voyager class but I sold it off. I felt that one was a bit similar to the Commander Class Ultra Magnus. Anyway, I never followed the animation as I was hopping on each episodes (I don't even really know how he arrived to earth in the first place). Anyway, I really love this new design compared to the previous voyager class although I know it is just a remold of the TF:Prime Optimus Prime. I know I want to get the Platinum Ultra Magnus but that will have to wait. Here is my review on him.

Bio

Ultra Magnus sees the massive Predacon coming from a mile away. He doesn't know who the big dragon is, and he doesn't care. All he knows is that the dragons are dangerous, and must be defeated. He converts to robot mode and leaps into the air, bringing the Forge of Solus around in a shattering blow that would destroy a lesser robot. Grimwing takes the blow, and is only momentarily fazed. The battle is short, violent, and never in doubt. It ends with Ultra Magnus on the ground, disarmed and barely functional. Grimwing stands over him. "Pathetic," he says. "I hoped to learn something from you, but this new race of Cybertronians must all be liars and savages." He leans down to look into the optics of his Autobot opponent, "Be warned. This world is in grave danger from my fellow Predacons. I will restrain them. You and your fellows stay out of my way or be destroyed." And then he is gone, leaving Ultra Magnus dented and smoking in the dust. Sources by TFU.info)

Vehicle Mode

He is actually a remold of TF: Prime RID Optimus Prime. But you can see the additional differences beside the color and everything. His wing is similar as BH Optimus Prime and can be mounted at the rear. And his hammer rest comfortably on the back; making good use as if it was a new mold. Do you notice anything missing in his vehicle mode? For those who own it might know. There is no smoke stacks. In the manual it stated it has but I can't just seems to find it on the box or anywhere. But after doing a minor research on the Internet; there were actually none. Damn you Hasbro!

Robot Mode

Ultra Magnus transformation process is quite easy. Although it share the same mold with TF: Prime Optimus; there were a few parts that were missing (such as the one on the top hood) which makes the transformation more easier. The only things that you need to be aware was the chest part and the shoulder parts.

Although the Platinum version looks more bad ass but my first choice was this one. He looks more appropriate and in proportion with the rest of my figure. His wing can also be installed with the normal TF: Prime Optimus and Nemesis Prime. But the blue color gives it away. I prefer him without the wings. And the missile can be launched on the two launcher on his shoulder (which makes him looks silly). Both missile can be mounted on each side of the shoulder but I do prefer to keep it at the back of the wings.

Conclusion

There were not a lot of Ultra Magnus figure around specifically for Generations line except for the FoC Ultra Magnus (I have not reviewed that one yet). Ultra Magnus was a great Autobot commander and sometimes I do wish for him to appear in Micheal Bay movie instead of Sentinel Prime. I like him in the G1 animation and I still want to buy the G1 reissue. Luckily; soon there will be a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus and I am going to save up my money for that one because I know that it would be very expensive.

Generation Windblade

30 th Generation - Meet the official fan-made Transformers; Windblade. According to tfwiki.net ; she was officially revealed at the 2013 SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) after running a few polls from fan. What I love about Windblade was she is the first Autobot female that I ever bought (Yes, I bought Airachnid from TFPrime). I think I forgot that I bought Arcee from TFPrime but sold it before I could ever review or displayed it (in this case, that does not count). Well, I really like her appearance and here is my review of her figure.

CW Powerglide

Combiner Wars - Finally a better looking Powerglide. I can't afford to buy the Classic 2.0 Powerglide; so this would be quite a nice value for your money. Basically, Powerglide is one of the G1 mini-bot (and how I wish that Beachcomber and Seaspray would be redesign). When Hasbro announce Powerglide as a legend class Combiner Wars figure; I was really excited. The new figure is the best looking Powerglide known and identical to his animation counterpart. And the best part; he transform himself into a powerful blaster for the combiners. Here is my review of him.

AoE Evolution Pack - Optimus Prime

Age of Extinction - Sorry for the late update. Been busy with life and collecting some masterpiece along the way. This double pack caught my eyes because of the classic/henkei mold. I already have the AoE Evasion Optimus (but never did review it); so here is my chance to review it all at once.
