Generations - I know that I am a bit slow on reviewing this (two years slow that is); at least I got the chance to review it. AND I know the 30th Generation Springer is already out; I still want to review this Asia Exclusive. So here is my review of the Asia Exclusive Springer.
Vehicle Mode
I don't know what to say. By sporting a new repaint using Springer G1 livery; it looks fairly legit. But the fact still remain that this was still a repaint/remold of Tomahawk/DoTM Vortex. I do prefer Tomahawk livery compared to Springer. In G1 animation and comic books; Springer was a triple changer. And this figure has only one vehicle mode. Although; there are some initiative from fans to modified him into a land vehicle mode. The only thing that I really don't get it is why there is a sword if you can't hide it?
Robot Mode
His transformation process is easy. You just have to be careful when inserting his head into the cockpit. And both hands are transform to form his rear wings/rotor. I really don't this figure due to the fact that he is small. Springer was a tall Autobot in the animation. Almost as tall as Ultra Magnus. With this figure; he looks puny. To make matter worst his head is not the appropriate proportion with his body. He has a sword; and that not even as cool looking as TF:Prime Wheeljack.
Conclusion
I felt like that I hate this figure. Then you ask me; why did you buy it in the first place? One reason; at that time I really cannot afford third party figure as it is freaking expensive. Lastly; I missed the Universe line Springer (which was a much better figure). I guess Hasbro rushed its production line to keep fans from buying the third party figure. But that does not prevent fans from buying third party either (due to the fact that this figure sucks). Not until the 30th Generation Springer was released; and everybody was busy selling the third party not-Springer.
