Transformers United - Say hello to my recent purchase early this year. Meet Windcharger (Red) and Wipeout (Black). I miss out on the Hasbro RVS version of Windcharger and I know that he is an important character in the G1 universe. I know less about Wipeout origin but I do know that he appeared in the Marvel G1 comic book as Trypticon personal assistant or scout. Both has the same mold and I am sure there is no differences. Here is my review.
Vehicle Mode
I love the car mode. It looks more like a Shelby GT500 compared to his G1 Pontiac Trans Am sport cars. Not much of a differences with the Hasbro version except for the insignia. Hasbro Windcharger has a rub-on sticker (RVS) and this version has a printed decal. I love the color on both version. Clean and high quality.
Robot Mode
I don't really know how much differences between these two. Wipeout has a blue helmet, red eye, gray and black theme while Windcharger has a dark grey helmet, a dark blue eye, gray and red theme. The transformation process was a easy. What you need to aware when transforming was the waist and leg part that joint the upper roof. These two has a weapon gimmick whereas you can rotate the hands and reveal a weapons. Both has nice articulation but limited.
Conclusion
Although that I am a few years late for reviewing this but nevertheless I really love these two legend class. If you are a G1 enthusiast than this is for you. It is an awesome figure to collect and I am not even half way through getting the G1 characters that I remember fondly of when I was a kid (sigh).
