IDW Trailcutter (Trailbreaker)

20140518_094916

30th Generation - The Autobot that has so many name changes (the same happened with Motormaster who tend to become Motorbreath). Trailcutter is also known as Trailbreaker and Trailblazer. He is one of the few Autobots that first appeared in comic books and the animation feature. I don't remember him fondly compared to Hoist. But I do know that he plays a lot of important role in the G1 animation. After a few decades; he finally get the form that he is deserved to. He did appeared before as a legend class (the original deco of legend class Hoist). Despite the new upgrade looks; Trailcutter still maintain his G1 looks. Here is my review of Trailcutter.

Bio

Few Autobots are as well liked as Trailcutter. He's always ready with a joke or a reassuring word, and when neither of those will do, his impenetrable force field usually serves to improve the situation. He sometimes worries that he uses too much fuel, but the other Autobots are more than happy to take a smaller Energon ration if it means Trailcutter can keep deflecting incoming laser blasts. The battle between Autobot and Decepticon is never over, and this Trailcutter figure is the next generation of awesome Transformers action! Your Trailcutter figure can convert to SUV mode when the battle takes to the road. When he converts back to robot mode for hand-to-hand combat, the roof becomes a battle shield! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his Decepticon enemies dish out!

Vehicle Mode

I just love the new vehicle mode. His G1 vehicle mode was based on a Toyota Hilux. I really love the black color paint and G1 livery. The vehicle mode looks pretty bad ass.

Robot Form

The transformation is pretty straight forward. My only concern was the rotating hand parts. Felt a bit like a masterpiece transformation. The truck bed canopy can be removed and change into a blast shield or a dual blaster (I forgot to take a picture that forms the shield). His head sculpt has been change and without any face mask compared to previous G1 and legend class toyline. The only differences between this version and Takara Tomy version is the visor. This guys has blue visor and the Takara has a red visor. Something of references to the G1 and the Encore reissue.

Conclusion

If you are a big fan of G1 Transformers; then you might one to grab Trailcutter and Hoist for your collections. I really love the new IDW design but unfortunately the size really puts it off (yes, Transformers are getting smaller even for a voyager). But who cares. I really love G1 and compared to the movie Transformers; I prefer to collect the generations line.

Generation Windblade

30 th Generation - Meet the official fan-made Transformers; Windblade. According to tfwiki.net ; she was officially revealed at the 2013 SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) after running a few polls from fan. What I love about Windblade was she is the first Autobot female that I ever bought (Yes, I bought Airachnid from TFPrime). I think I forgot that I bought Arcee from TFPrime but sold it before I could ever review or displayed it (in this case, that does not count). Well, I really like her appearance and here is my review of her figure.

CW Powerglide

Combiner Wars - Finally a better looking Powerglide. I can't afford to buy the Classic 2.0 Powerglide; so this would be quite a nice value for your money. Basically, Powerglide is one of the G1 mini-bot (and how I wish that Beachcomber and Seaspray would be redesign). When Hasbro announce Powerglide as a legend class Combiner Wars figure; I was really excited. The new figure is the best looking Powerglide known and identical to his animation counterpart. And the best part; he transform himself into a powerful blaster for the combiners. Here is my review of him.

Expressive Art Convention Brunei - Gundam Exhibition

EACon Brunei - Honestly, I am not a big fan of Gundam. But I do love the creative things that some collectors are willing to do beyond the stock paint and decal. Some are very quite amazing compared to the normal stock version. The ability to customized a Gundam model (or GunPla) is beyond imagination and limitless compared to a Transformers figure. Well just look at the pictures and judge it by yourself (Pictures make take a while to load, so please be patient).
