Universe Classic 2.0 - Another legendary Autobot who appear in the Transformers animated movie. He is also the existing members of The Wreckers. He was formerly known as Hot Rod and was change to Rodimus due to legal reason. He is the successor of Optimus Prime and fans blame his reckless action that cause Optimus death. Back in the 80's, to me he was a cool robot. A heroic icon to the Autobot. But he was easily forgotten as fans still prefer the Autobot Commander, Optimus Prime
Bio
Hot Rod is brash and headstrong, with an overwhelming self-confidence that borders on arrogance. Kup has assumed the role of mentor and advisor to the impetuous young Hot Rod, offering him wisdom and advice when he needs it (though Hot Rod rarely feels that he does, much to Kup's annoyance). Arcee also serves as a calming influence on Hot Rod, and tends to either worry about him when he is not around, or deride and tease him when he is. Their relationship is antagonistic, but friendly. Exactly how deep Hot Rod's feelings for Arcee might run is unknown, whether they be friendly, romantic, or otherwise.
In contrast, his Rodimus Prime persona—while still headstrong and stubborn—seems to suffer from a severe lack of confidence, often doubting his own decisions and expressing distress over his position as an Autobot leader. Of course, much of this comes from comparisons with his former commander Optimus Prime—and let's face it, shoes-to-be-filled just don't get much bigger than that.
Vehicle Mode
When trying to transform Rodimus from his robot mode to vehicle mode; I had problem opening the rear hatch and cause a paint scratch. The yellow paint had stuck in front of the cyan windscreen and it looks terrible. I guess this is a manufacturer defect. The latest version of Rodimus is replaced with clear screen windows which does not cause the paint defect.
The vehicle mode looks not that extra ordinary. Maybe because I still don't have the large trailer on his rear. Before there were Mechtech weaponry, Rodimus has a Speedstar form during vehicle mode. It add that interesting feature of his vehicle mode.
Transformation Mode
The transformation mode was very easy and reminds me of the simple G1 transformation mode. Luckily, his robot mode looks awesome. He even got a communication device on his left hand. His weapon was quite unique with blue flame. It works very well and the firing range is very accurate. His articulation is mild due to his bulky arms and legs. But nevertheless, he can pose very well in certain angles. If you have the extra cash, I would prefer you to buy the Masterpiece version instead of this. It is worth your dime and to your collection. There is also a two pack version, 'The Battle in Space' which include Cyclonus and Nightstick. Or you can get what I have bought - the 'Challenge in Cybertron' (3 pack version).
