Generation Legend Class Optimus Prime and Roller

20140511_091927

Generations - It has been a while since Optimus Prime has a new redesign. The best thing was that it came with Roller (if you remember G1; Roller was that small vehicle inside Optimus trailer). Roller was not created new. He did appeared before in DOTM The Ark spaceship toyline. Now he became a minicon that has 3 mode; robot, vehicle and weapon mode. Here is my review of both Optimus and Roller.

Bio

Autobot Roller has been the constant companion of Optimus Prime for all the countless years of the war. Silently, patiently, he has stood by the Autobot commander, supporting him as a leader, and serving him as a warrior. For all intents and purposes, Autobot Roller is a part of Optimus Prime, and just as great a hero.

This Autobot duo is just what you need to jump-start your Transformers adventures! Your Optimus Prime figure is the great Autobot leader, and he converts easily from robot mode to semi truck mode and back. But your Autobot Roller figure is Optimus Prime's powerful ally. He converts from robot to vehicle mode and back, and he also pops into weapon mode! Keep converting them both from one mode to another so their Decepticon enemies can't keep up!

Vehicle Mode

I love both vehicle mode on Optimus Prime and Roller. His truck mode looks more G1 with a modern twist and Roller has somehow redesign into a small SUV. I can't comment a lot but compared to his previous design; Optimus looks more better and somehow I wished that it got a trailer on his back.

Robot Mode

As legend class; the transformation process would be simple and a walk in the park. But compared to the previous legend class; Optimus got new and complex transformation. As if it was a deluxe class. You will found out what I meant if you are transforming its waistline. I just love the design on this new Optimus. Beautiful and how I wished it was a voyager instead of a legend class. My only concern was the chest. I am not sure whether to cover the Autobot insignia or not.

Roller was not that bad either. He looks cute though. Minicon are way simple and almost no articulation (can't blame it though). He can transform into a weapon or even combine with Optimus gun to get that big bang.

Conclusion

I was lucky to find both Optimus and Bumblebee at the same place and time. Unfortunately; I could not find Megatron and Starscream. My friends told me that this legend class was meant for Metroplex playset. But who cares. I don't have the 30th Generation Metroplex but I am still happy to own these new figures. If you missed out on this fantastic figures; you can still get the Takara Tomy version which is usually shiny and everything.

Generation Windblade

30 th Generation - Meet the official fan-made Transformers; Windblade. According to tfwiki.net ; she was officially revealed at the 2013 SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) after running a few polls from fan. What I love about Windblade was she is the first Autobot female that I ever bought (Yes, I bought Airachnid from TFPrime). I think I forgot that I bought Arcee from TFPrime but sold it before I could ever review or displayed it (in this case, that does not count). Well, I really like her appearance and here is my review of her figure.

CW Powerglide

Combiner Wars - Finally a better looking Powerglide. I can't afford to buy the Classic 2.0 Powerglide; so this would be quite a nice value for your money. Basically, Powerglide is one of the G1 mini-bot (and how I wish that Beachcomber and Seaspray would be redesign). When Hasbro announce Powerglide as a legend class Combiner Wars figure; I was really excited. The new figure is the best looking Powerglide known and identical to his animation counterpart. And the best part; he transform himself into a powerful blaster for the combiners. Here is my review of him.

Expressive Art Convention Brunei - Gundam Exhibition

EACon Brunei - Honestly, I am not a big fan of Gundam. But I do love the creative things that some collectors are willing to do beyond the stock paint and decal. Some are very quite amazing compared to the normal stock version. The ability to customized a Gundam model (or GunPla) is beyond imagination and limitless compared to a Transformers figure. Well just look at the pictures and judge it by yourself (Pictures make take a while to load, so please be patient).
