Optimus Prime Special Edition

Photobucket

Universe - More than meet the eyes? Yes, that was this is. Not in a good way but in a bad way instead. Why? You might like the G1 look on this figure very much. But there is something crooked marketing gimmick that I really don't like very much. Anyway, the leader of the Autobot return to its all glory and has pack full of punch and a mafia look machine gun?

Bio

Long before the dawn of man on Earth, the war between Autobots and Decepticons raged. Two titans – huge metal warriors, each committed to total victory – emerged as leaders. Optimus Prime, wise, just and gentle despite having strength enough to move mountains, took command of the Autobot forces, hoping to lead his people to peace and freedom.

Vehicle Mode

This is the most ugliest Optimus Prime truck I ever encounter. Why? First it is quite long and the leg does not have a slide mechanism to make it short. Then, there is the loose waist that always touch the ground for some unknown reason. Then I hate the head part which is put on top of the body part and there is no compartment to hide it properly. Although, it does not come with a trailer; the gun fits and look perfectly at the back. Making it look more like an AA gun carrier truck. But I do love the gimmick with the two passenger seats instead of the matrix or sort of.

Alternate Mode

This mold maybe faithful to the old G1 mold with better articulation. Even the transformation is almost identical to the Masterpiece Optimus Prime. Well, it is quite easy even the masterpiece transformation was walk in the park. The only unnecessary gimmick was the button that could trigger a punch. So lame. All in all; the robot mode was not that bad. For your information, this mold has been used over and over again. There are United version which has more metallic and vivid color, Son of Cybertron - features almost transparent paint job and a Toy 'R' Us exclusive that has him and G2 Megatron. I won't persuade you or discouraged you in buying this Optimus Prime. But there is so many Optimus Prime mold out there waiting for you (for example: Optimus Prime Galaxy Convoy). But if you insist and want a superior type, get the United version instead.

Anyway, here is a suggestion if Hasbro/Takara are willing to repaint it again. Nemesis Prime and Ultra Magnus. I have edited this in Adobe Photoshop and not a custom paint job (might be a good referral for you all customizer out there).

Generation Windblade

30 th Generation - Meet the official fan-made Transformers; Windblade. According to tfwiki.net ; she was officially revealed at the 2013 SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) after running a few polls from fan. What I love about Windblade was she is the first Autobot female that I ever bought (Yes, I bought Airachnid from TFPrime). I think I forgot that I bought Arcee from TFPrime but sold it before I could ever review or displayed it (in this case, that does not count). Well, I really like her appearance and here is my review of her figure.

CW Powerglide

Combiner Wars - Finally a better looking Powerglide. I can't afford to buy the Classic 2.0 Powerglide; so this would be quite a nice value for your money. Basically, Powerglide is one of the G1 mini-bot (and how I wish that Beachcomber and Seaspray would be redesign). When Hasbro announce Powerglide as a legend class Combiner Wars figure; I was really excited. The new figure is the best looking Powerglide known and identical to his animation counterpart. And the best part; he transform himself into a powerful blaster for the combiners. Here is my review of him.

Expressive Art Convention Brunei - Gundam Exhibition

EACon Brunei - Honestly, I am not a big fan of Gundam. But I do love the creative things that some collectors are willing to do beyond the stock paint and decal. Some are very quite amazing compared to the normal stock version. The ability to customized a Gundam model (or GunPla) is beyond imagination and limitless compared to a Transformers figure. Well just look at the pictures and judge it by yourself (Pictures make take a while to load, so please be patient).
